Wake Up Yoga In Bed

Saturday, September 20th 2008 @ 4:36 PM    post viewed 278 times

If you've read my last post, you'll know that exercise has to simple, easy and enjoyable before I'll do any!

Elementary Yoga ticks all 3 boxes, but having to turn up to a class on time has always been a bit of a deal breaker for me so despite being open to it, I've never really got into it - HOWEVER this video might just change all that!

So what do you think?

I'm going to give this a go - I'll let you know how it goes!

This is one of the best "wake-up" sequences of exercises I have ever seen! It's really wonderful and so well instructed. Beginning the day "on a positive note" like this, stretching and "elongating" the body, connecting to the breath, and breathing deeply also presents the perfect opportunity to think to yourself "What do I want to get out this new day"? "I commit to being happy, calm and positive in any situation I am presented with, and I will continue taking care of my body"! As she says "Set your INTENTION" - great advice! She also demonstrates some excellent and "key" upper body stretches - an area most people sadly neglect to stretch... yet it is vital for good posture, and so very wise to do. I particuarly loved the the upper back stretch she does (she called "the eagle arm" I think)... and being a "swimmer" this is definetely going to be incorporated in my post-swim stretching routine! Great video Claire, and thank you for posting it, as I think all DailyBread365 members will really enjoy it, and benefit a great deal!

I couldn't agree more, Claire, it takes something really really simple to get me exercising, and this is where my weight loss intentions always fall down. it always works so much better when you can get moving. I love this video, so simple, so easily understood, so gentle! There can be no excuses not to do this one, I don't need equipment, I don't get out of breath, and it is a really positive start to the day! More like this please...
